Help PMR Raise Our Barn!!!!
We are getting really close to installing our beautiful 4 stall barn that was generously donated by Eq-Wine Covers!!! We still have a lot of work to do in order to be ready for the arrival of our barn. We are getting quotes this week for completing the work on the land, readying it for our "barn raising". This barn is essential for our pregnant mares, especially our girl Suri, who will be foaling soon. If you can help with the cost of completing the land work so we can get the barn in, it would be greatly appreciated! If every person reading this donated just $5 we could have our barn raised by this weekend. Thank you!!!! We couldn't do all this without you!!!

Thank you to the following people for donating to our "barn raising" fund: Sandy B, Katy H, Mike B, Carl S, Cindy M, Lynn S, Kate K

Meet The "Jonas Brothers"!!!
Please check out our special fundraising drives below. We appreciate any and all donations to help these horses.

UPDATE AUGUST 16TH We've added a new thermometer! We are so thrilled with the generous donations we have received to help take care of Angel, our mom, and her 4 babies, The Jonas Brothers, but they are very expensive to feed (see below). We have basically gone through most of our donations to date buying Foal Lac for the babies. Any additional help is so appreciated! Thank you!!!!
Our current fundraising effort to help take care of our adoptive mom, her foal, and the three orphans she has adopted, and is nursing. We need to buy a LOT of Foal Lac to help this girl out, and make sure these orphans receive the nutrition they need. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated...every little bit DOES help. Donations can be earmarked "Foal Lac". You can read more about our mare and her orphans below, or in our Previous Blogs section here.
We've added a second fundraising thermometer for our sweet little orphans and their mama Angel. These little piggies are drinking a LOT of Foal Lac, and will be transitioning over to Foal Lac pellets in the next weeks. Currently PMR is spending about $750 a month just to feed the babies, and that doesn't take into account all the other expenses for them, as well as the needs of the other horses at the rescue. We truly appreciate all donations, every bit helps!!!

Our current fundraising effort to help Bridget. In addition to all the basics (hoof trimming, vet care, worming, good food) this little girl has an umbilical hernia, and will need to have it surgically repaired. Donations for Bridget are gratefully appreciated, and can be earmarked "Bridget". You can read more about Bridget, and her mother Suri, our Previous Blog section which is located here, and in our "Meet The Horses" section, under "2008 Rescues". Thank you!!! A charitable nonprofit organization providing a temporary sanctuary for the mare and foal. | "Pregnant Mare Rescue" believes horses should not be slaughtered for food, certainly not pregnant mares.
Our goal is to purchase as many mares as possible, gentle them, and allow them to foal in peace,... off of the feedlots. Once their babies are on the ground we want to give mares the chance to nurse and nurture their babies,.... then we gentle the foals. When the foal is weaned, we can adopt both mare and foal out to loving homes.
Over 90,000 horses went to slaughter last year, providing meat to European and Asian markets. Please help us stop the horrible fate these noble animals face.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, indeed its the only thing that ever has. ~Margaret Mead~
