Following the tradition of class and know-how, Dave and Lynn put on a great Grand Opening Party! The forecast called for rain but we were blessed with a bright sunny day with a few clouds here and there. The food and libations were outstanding thanks to everyone who brought incredible dishes and helped with the barbecue. The message was clear to all that attended how special this foundation is and what it meant to Lynn and Dave to have had such a great turnout. Much needed funds were raised as well. Just after 2 months of moving onto this land, two corrals were built and the rescue operation began. First arrivals were Rosy and her baby Roxy. Next to arrive was Red, the permanent resident gelding to watch out after the mares and foals. So far Red is doing a great job and has adapted well to his new position. Next to arrive after Red was Wiley. Wiley is a rescue that is only to stay a week or so as he goes through a placement transition. And let us not forget "Wilma" the rescue goat whose job is to eat up all the poison oak and other unwanted vegetation. We would like to extend our deepest heart filled gratitude and thanks to all that attended and donated to this exceptional cause! Please spread the word… There will be plenty to do around the ranch, so we will be posting jobs that we could use a helping hand with. These jobs will pay in the rewarding feeling that you helped in saving these incredible animals from slaughter. |
