Pregnant Mare Rescue Proudly introduces Dazzle (Dozor photos Coming Soon) Dazzle is a PMU Mare. PMU stands for Pregnant Mare Urine. She was living on a ranch in Canada producing urine for a drug manufacturer that uses pregnant mare urine to produce a product called Premarin. Dazzle Along with thousands of other mares were kept pregnant, spending long hours in stalls while their urine was collected. Premarin has recently been considered dangerous and the production of this drug has slowed dramatically. Thus, farms all across Canada are shutting down. Farmers cannot afford to kept these mares or their off spring and are desperate to sell them. Many of the farmers simply have no other option but to send them to auction and sell them to the highest bidder. This means “The meat buyers”. Dazzle and her foal arrived late November 2006. With the help of another horse rescue organization “Hope for Horses” we purchased Dazzle and her foal now named Dozor. We are excited to have them here and welcome them to our ranch!
Please meet baby Dozor next to her mom who's not really a baby as she's such a BIG GIRL!
